I didn't have a TV or radio on that day, so didn't know anything was going on until my daugter got home and told me about it.  I couldn't believe what I heard on the TV for the next several days.
I remember JFK; he visited our state in 1962 I think the year was and dedicated the Greers Ferry Dam at Heber Springs.  I also remember Nixon resigning, the men landing on the moon and the Challenger exploding on take off and killing the teacher; although, I can't remember how to spell her name.
Interesting post that you have here.

I was mopping the basement floor. Sam was eight days old. I heard it on the radio, and switched on the tv just in time to see the second plane hit. It was surreal. I had done a tarot reading early that morning, and something unexpected was portended. I couldn't have imagined something like this!

For me it's Nixon's resignation, the Challenger Shuttle explosion and 9/11. On the good side it's man landing on the moon and the Arizona Diamondbacks winning the World Series in 2001.

Jaahda - Interesting how every generation has several, 'where were you when

moments.  For Momma it's Pearl Harbor and a few others.  For me, it's when JFK was shot, the FLQ crisis in Montreal, and yes, 9/11.  My brother was caught in the debris of WTC4 and we didn't hear from him for three days due to him having amnesia and then when he went home to Queens a plane landed across his backyard.  Yes, I remember it well.  An interesting post.  My aplogies for not having been here as much as I would like, but I'm traveling and doing my best by people.
