It is all religious priority.  You don't worry about the real problems, but instead focus on what will get the most attention.  They will sit back and let the world burn as long as they are getting the media attention they want.
Harry Potter does no harm to anyone on any level, but it is popular. So to get attention these groups has to attack it.  And the saddest part is that there are people out there who fall for it and start to believe the nonsense.

Don't know.  I've met a lot of religious idiots, but I have yet to meet one single atheistic moron.

Harry Potter is the least of our worries
Strange, with all the really serious problems in the world, Harry Potter seems to rank alongside poverty, murder, rape, suicide, drugs etc etc.

People, especially Christians, need to get a grip on themselves. You have to be joking if you honestly believe this book is going to corrupt your children.

It's a bit like saying that science books should be destroyed becasue kids will learn how to make drugs!!

People who don't know what they are talking about need to leave Harry
alone!!  It doesn't matter...Harry rules, no matter what.  Get over it already, people!!

kooka_lives - I often wonder how long it will take mankind to remove itself

from believing in a fictitious spiritual realm.

Do you get as weary as I do listening to people with a modern day education speak of witches, demons, spirits etc. etc. as if they are anything more than myth and fantasy? The pope, a presumably educated man, wants to preserve his version of medieval fantasy over the modern day contrived entertainment version of Harry Potter. Why is this not considered by more people to be as ridiculous as it is?
