I am sorry you too were in the situation but it is also very nice that you can understand and relate...not a lot of people understand....Domestic violence it's sterotyped to make one feel ashamed...only people who have been through it only knows the true factor of how someobody can completely wear you done to you feel worthless....I never believed anybody could do that to me, when I had heard about it or read about it....but it is so easy done...love is blind...the more you forgive the harder it gets...I rambled on enough...like you said....You know....!

glad you got out, those wedding vows are very important but life is more so and that of the children. No way for a child to learn kindness or understanding if they see this type of behavior

Your narrative is very powerful. My physical reaction was a deep
sigh. Let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Your ability to pull us into the scene with ordinary language is almost too strong. Hollywood should take a hint from your method. But first, the title grabbed me. Gut response to "Do I have the right to be here?" is hell, yes, you've got a right! Maybe even an obligation!
Too many of us are members of this sisterhood. Too many of us had to fight free, hide out, go into our own kind of witness protection. It's been 47 years since I escaped -- at times it feels like last week. I never have to ask why someone put up with a brute, why they leave only when their lives are at risk. I know.

things are a lot better for me and the children now....I will write all of my diary entries up from when I was in the woman's refuge...then after of course in order...I will write how far I have come to this day!

No woman should ever have to go through what you described to us!
Hi, this is the first time that I have read you--I believe. You tell your tale well, but I hate that you have gone and are going through this still. No woman or man should ever have to go through what you just described to us, and the other partner should never make them feel that they do have too.
I hope that things are much better for you now and will continue getting better still.
