Offy... thank you so much. She was actually one of the puppies.
I gave Sugar, the momma, to my Aunt bc I couldn't feed two dogs, and Maggie took to my little girl and me so much.  I still get to see Sugar once in a while, my Aunt gets kinda jealous when I come by bc she freaks out so much and gets excited when I do.  But I'm looking now for another baby, it's gotta be special.  She was so pretty, I miss her so much.

Oh I just saw this
Post Kiddo...I remember you writing about your Maggie. Is she the one who had the litter a couple years ago? I remember you posting pictures of the sweetest puppies. I am so very sorry, I can't relate to losing a pet and can only say she was so very pretty...

rckymnt...YES. My father in law hit her. It was a horrible accident
and I did call him and tell him not to carry the weight of her death...killing his grandchildren's dog in front of one of them and all..., on his shoulders.  But now that I think about it, they havent called to check on ME or them about it, or offered to get them a new puppy...assholes.  They buried her under a magnolia tree in a little box with a pink blanket, and put a little cross up.  fat lot of good it does me when I don't even go out there, but it was for the kids.  I guess.  I don't know with those people out there anymore.

Hi Kiddo....Well this is a bittersweet moment..I'm so happy to see you back

and so sad to hear about Maggie. I totally know how you feel. I've lost many pets over my lifetime and I NEVER forget them. Even though you get another dog she will never be replaced in your heart. I'm so sorry Kiddo. Didn't your other post say that she was run over by your asshole in-laws? Take some time to grieve for her and then get another dog. Anyway, It's good to see you back and I hope the rest of your posts will have me in hysterics as usual and not in tears as I am now. Bless little Maggie!  Take care Kiddo!

Kiddo - That's a lovely photo.
So sorry Maggie Mae is gone.  Yes, it really does hurt when we lose a pet.

kiddo, I am sorry for your loss. We lost Brittany, a short haired Visla,

or some kinda mix, and we loved her so.  But she was one who, if there was a way to run away, she would find it.  Very high strung dog.  We got a crazy heinz57 spaniel who I thought would be a good guard dog.   It went like this.

My daughter's T-ball team was practicing near an elementary school.  I always took advantage of the time and walked around the perimeter for exercise.  This little black dog barked at me as if i were a criminal.  Then i noticed that he barked at the cars that way too.

When my father died in May of 1997, I took the girls to the pound to get a dog.  That little dog was there.  He wouldn't listen to any of us but my older daughter.  He minded her for some reason and would go to her.  So we got him.  He's been with us now ten years, but he barks as fiercely at the squirrels, garbage men, and passing vendor trucks as he does at the vandals and crack heads.  Funny.

Strat! Hey there! I am soooo sooo sorry about your loss as well.
It is like a kick in the gut.  I too do little things before I remember she's gone.  I was cleaning yesterday and when I got under my bed, I found a bunch of my things she liked to chew on all to pieces.  I had to pick up all the toothbrushes, pencils and other what nots and throw them away.  I did keep the toothbrush, it was her favorite.  Thank you for your comment, and good to see you again!  Take care and hope it gets better for you as well....

So sorry to hear about your loss.......
I lost my favorite dog of all time about 2 1/2 years ago and I think of her all the time.....I'll see her again on the " Rainbow Bridge".....

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

I lasted two days before I bought 2 to fill the void..........

Kiddo, hey, good to see you back.
I've been catching up with a few of your posts and got to this one last -- I am very sorry to hear about this.

I just had to put my old Golden Girl down last week -- horrible, horrible moment -- and it's taking some time to get used to not slipping a biscuit under the table or feeling a furry weight on my feet. It freakin' sucks.

Hang in there, another great one will come along. It won't be Maggie -- there can only be one -- but this one will have its personality that will take your heart.

Take it easy. Keep writing -- you do it very well!

kiddo, dogs are human, too. They have feelings, just like us.
Honestly, I don't know what to say...I just hope you find another dog who gave you as much joy as maggie did.

shelly, thank you. I feel silly sometimes getting all "waa waa" about a
dog to others, but she was worth it.  Besides, anyone who would roll their eyes about me being upset about her death piss on em anyway.
