kooka_lives - there is no doubt that these people are as much a part of the
problem as they are any part of the solution.
As with all social issues such as this, religious beliefs and the subsequent positions derived from those beliefs and that are held by only a small segment of society cannot be advanced by the force of violence. This is where people who do not hold these religious beliefs have a clear and distinct advantage, the abortion issue can no longer be about pro versus con. Whether we like it or not it is part of a free society with two inecapable realities; if it is legal it is above the table, if it is illegal it is still practiced. The only solution therefore becomes one of practicality, much of which you cover in this post about sex education but also in promoting the means of reducing abortions. Republican candidate Rudi Guliani has the right idea on this in his facilitating adoption stance, but of course he will probably lose the nominatioin over this issue.
