The Iraq situation is so difficult and my heart aches to see it continually 'played' out.  Welcome to Blogit.

Policing the world is just impossible.  The lack of foresight of Bush/Blair  going into Iraq will haunt us all for decades.... I am sure the money involved could have affected lives for decades in a positive way.  Now that they did it ... withdrawal could be very dangerous indeed and I just don't know what the right course of action from this point on.

fantastic post! The Roman Empire was a great metaphor. I had never seen it like that, but in a way we are insuring the whole world... And so, I guess to a slight degree I could see why so many foreigners grow to resent Americans.

It's worth saying twice. Great post!
