While I totally disagree with my pal Freeman that anything over 300 pages is a waste, I think 250 is MORE than enough. A story is as long as it needs to be. I doubt anyone would advise you to make it longer, but if they did, as you said, it would be to add fluff. And who wants to do that? I've read plenty of novels that length and shorter and never felt that anything was missing. You go, girl! I'm having a really hard time getting my collection to an acceptable length, though. It's really hard to lengthen and expand stories I wrote for the short attention spans of this forum!  I may have to write 5-10 extras and push back my timeline for publishing. Ggrrr...

Sometimes I'm surprised that I can even write 500 words..
of course, I'm just now seriously doing this writing thing.

Miaella - anything over 300 pages is a waste of the writer's and reader's
time. Thanks for doing it the right way. 60K words is fine.
