I feel both sides of that situation are ridiculous. I am a Christian. I don't expect you to be. That is your choice, God says so, who am I to go over his head? I believe any who show less than sincere faith because they think others have it or those who tout faith and really don't have it are missing the whole cause of both government and faith.

Part of the problem is that certain religious conservatives have "worn their faith on their sleeve," and liberals feel pressured to do the same so that people won't perceive them as anti-faith. It leads to predictably ridiculous displays.
