In 20 or 30 years from now and if present immigration rates continue, Spanish will replace English as the official language of the United States.

I agree that English is ALREADY the official language in the States without
needing further debate in the media. Schools teach English, in order to attend college, you take SAT/ACT, and if one has the ambition to raise above minimum wage jobs, one will learn English out of his/her own motivations. However, I do not agree making it such a big point to state that everyone has to learn English. It really puts those immigrants (many are even legal) who speak little English (but probably have second generation, US born children who do speak English and take very good care of them) at the risk of being discriminated against, especially in the face of those die-hard US patriots.
