Re: A Stranger In My Own House

This reminds me of a family reunion that I was at a few years ago.  One of my nieces was there that none of us had seen for a few years and none of us recogonized her.  She had changed her hair, and I am not sure what else it was about her but altogether she just didn't look like herself.  Luckily for me, she reminded me of one of my nephews wife, so I thought I knew her.  She told me, "You are the only person here that has recognized me."  That was after I spoke to the lady that I thought was my nephews wife, but in reality was my nephew's cousin and a blood niece to me.  Good writing that you have in this piece of yours.

A man with a balloon?
Maybe he's a Manny (male nanny) for one of your relatives?  Okay, I'm going to the next post...

Yeah, putting them together would have made the post too long, though, TAPS.

Mademoiselle
I'm so glad that I already know there is a continuation of this post.  I'm on my way to it now.

Read my latest post, bananaslug.
And I don't think there was a compliment to my beauty in there, actually. Warranted as it may have been.

Nice compliments from your relatives! Each one covers a different
aspect of your good features: 1: tallness. 2: beauty. 3: hot body.

What a coincidence! Or, hm, was it by design?

Anyways, who was that mystery man? Was he a Russian with a tan and a mustache?

It's probably the one aspect which frightened me the most, robdon.

I didn't post it in a "humor" blog, Enigmatic ...

I posted it in a blog which happens to be in the "humor" category.

It's a subtle yet substantial difference.

Yeah, I did, actually, Whacky.

Well, perhaps, Hazel.

Although, if that was the case, he could have just drank out of the garden hose.

The balloon is intriguing.

Mademoiselle
No sarcasm intended - but is there any particular reason that you would post something like this, in a "Humor" blog?

How creepy. Did you ever find out who he was?

Thank you, afzal.
And to think, my mother claims this one "ends too abruptly" and is "idiotic".

Well, I suppose that's probably a subjective judgement, Scriber.

But yes.

Besides, I need to get back on my traditional posting schedule (once per day; after midnight).

Re: Are you still building suspense?

posted by scriber on May 28, 2007 at 12:16 PM | link to this | reply

No, I'm afraid it's quite a bit more mundane than that, Scriber.

Re: heist--hope I didn't spoil the surprise ending...

posted by scriber on May 28, 2007 at 12:03 PM | link to this | reply

Perhaps so, Scriber. Although I know who it was now, actually.

But I figured I'd, like, build suspense.

Plus, I had planned to post this when I got home last night (the events took place yesterday), but sadly I fell asleep.

He must have been planning a major heist at your house...Now when
everyone but the immediate family leaves, and the family is asleep, he will get his gang and sneak back in and burgle the family jewels and probably get some iced tea, for everyone, too.  It should set him up for life of luxury in Little Havana.
