Fortunately, I typically don't have that much contact with them, johnmacnab.

I appreciate the sympathy, Masky.

Oh, it's abysmally long, Offy ... plus it really stinks in there (from all the gasoline and exhaust fumes).

Well, I'm already "spoken for", anyways, Kabu.

On the bright side, Justi, at least they make me look even smarter.

Mademoiselle
Look on the bright side, Mademoiselle; the slimy pre-teen cousins will soon be teenagers with a sense of humour.  I suggest you start packing now.

ha ha,you gotta love those cousins....

Seems like you're the bright cousin here. Traffic how boring and somewhere
men were lining up to ask you for a date.

Mademoiselle
Brilliant company you keep lol.

So glad you enjoyed it, Hazel.

I can certainly relate to that, TAPS ...

One time, my mother made me take the trash out when it was raining!

(Just because Pavel had a slight broken leg.)

posted by Mademoiselle on May 27, 2007 at 2:02 PM | link to this | reply

Though hopefully not, Muser.

Not sure I follow that one, Scriber.

Mademoiselle
I don't remember ever riding in a vehicle with my cousins.  There were always too many siblings.  The cousins had to fend for themselves.  By the way, there was a time in my early teens when I really thought that I was the family slave.

Mademoiselle, how funny! When my sons were in their pre-teen years,
my sanity was totally compromised! One day, mon ami, you may have the olfactory experience

of driving seven - eight thirteen year old boys to soccer practice!

That's a clever variation of Thomas Jefferson's quote, Scriber.

9 and 12, Rcky. (Supposedly.)
And yeah, I think this locale provides quite a bit more "material".

Hahaha Madame....I think your cousins could use a history lesson or two!

How old are they? BTW, are you happy you're home now? Now you can write about your relatives at your family BBQs.

You're thinking of Franklin Roosevelt, Scriber.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 27, 2007 at 5:58 AM | link to this | reply

I don't think my uncle would let me, Shelly.
Plus there are some parts of the city I'd rather not pass through alone. (Or even at all, actually.)

Glad you enjoyed it.

Not 100% sure, Corbin. Though it seemed to last for an eternity.

Generally, when I would take the train on a Friday night, it only took a couple hours to get home.

However, with all the traffic yesterday, we must have been out there (a minimum of) three and a half.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 27, 2007 at 5:37 AM | link to this | reply

Humorous Indeed !!!!

Hmmm?
How long was the entire ride????  Hope things are better today!

Um, actually, it's a book by Stephen King about a lovable St. Bernard who ...

contracts rabies and turns into an unstoppable canine killing machine.

P.S. I only have ten more minutes.

Re: Ever read/see "Cujo", bandana?
No. Indian food?

p.s. you know, dogs calm down almost instantly when you start rubbing them in circular motions. I just did, and now, Machi finally went to his bed to sleep.

Ever read/see "Cujo", bandana?

posted by Mademoiselle on May 26, 2007 at 11:37 PM | link to this | reply

He just makes me so nervous when he stares like that.
Why?

posted by bandanafish on May 26, 2007 at 11:32 PM | link to this | reply

You're afraid of your own dog, bandana?

He didn't get bitten by a racoon recently, did he?

posted by Mademoiselle on May 26, 2007 at 11:28 PM | link to this | reply

You mean, like, just waiting for the exact wrong moment?

posted by Mademoiselle on May 26, 2007 at 11:27 PM | link to this | reply

p.s. my dog is making me really nervous. He is sitting by the dark corner
of the room, and keeps staring at me.

Shush shush!
NO! I was just, like, taking my time!

posted by bandanafish on May 26, 2007 at 11:22 PM | link to this | reply

Wow, bandana, and it only took you an hour and a half to come up with that joke, too!

posted by Mademoiselle on May 26, 2007 at 11:18 PM | link to this | reply

Were YOU the one emanating the unpleasant odors?

posted by bandanafish on May 26, 2007 at 11:11 PM | link to this | reply

Speak for yourself.

But isn't it odd that no matter how incredible summer vacation is, it
still doesn't make that cruel finals week worthwhile.

p.s. I have to take my dog out to pee. Be right back. He's bugging me so much.

posted by bandanafish on May 26, 2007 at 10:58 PM | link to this | reply

Say what, bandana?
I'm just so happy to be home, sleeping in my own bed. It's been such a long time.

posted by Mademoiselle on May 26, 2007 at 10:55 PM | link to this | reply

Well, maybe ("everyone is always 'biting off" of you for no reason.)
But, I doubt it.

posted by bandanafish on May 26, 2007 at 10:49 PM | link to this | reply

9 and 12, bandana. (I think.)

P.S. And it's no surprise, really. Everyone else is always "biting off" of me, actually.

How old are your cousins?
How fun that the two women + you in your family are all full of sarcasms.
