Matie: Thanks for reading my article and responding back to it.  This is my hope and dream for the United States: the rise of an independent, charismatic populist individual rising to the presidency.  Although Perot was extremely wealthy, I was extremely excited with his candidacy in 1992 and if he didn't drop out; he might have won.  I considered Pat Buchanan a populist conservative of sorts.  Ron Paul strikes me as that type of candidate today.  What do you think?

The problem is, that any party system, be it bipartisan or multipartisan, constitutes one of the main pillars of any democracy, because it prevents the rise of any independent candidates whose upbringing is not that well known and he/she is too charismatic and makes too many populist promises.

Re:

Funny!  I'm talking about political parties not social gatherings.

Re: A Voice For...

Don't you think that political parties today are too bound by ideology?  What is the matter with independent thought?

Someday, someone may introduce a better way. But as of today, parties are the best approach.

Parties are good.  Of course, they should always include people who enjoy visiting with one another, yummy snacks, and other forms of entertainment.  Yes.  Let's keep having parties.
