I see no signs that life is better with or without belief in God.  As far as I can see the best way to live life is to be true to who you are and let your faith be an off-branch of that.

I don't usually comment on you, because I don't like debating what God is or isn't to others.  I don't have the courage to take on that type of debate.   BUT...
...you're theories here fascinate me, because I've wondered if NOT having believed in God when growing up would've made things better or "eaiser" for ME...the flip side of your post title. 

Would I have been better off not living in fear of a power that supposedly exists though we can't see, touch, or taste it?  Would I have been better off living based on common sense or instinctive abilities?  I guess one never truly knows!
