As a reporter, I do a lot of stories promoting and making the public aware
of what our local animal shelter does. This is something pretty near and dear to my heart.

The number one thing people need to do is spay and neuter. If everyone did that, the need for shelters would happily drop.

Until that time, bless you for the work you do!

Riri...you're a wonderful person to do what you do. I am involved with

many animal organizations and do what I can and it is so good to see others do the same. Excellent and informative post. I just hope people take your advice and suggestions to help our beautiful and loving companions!

Hey there . this is a really fantastic informative post. Its also well
written.  Ive never really given much thought to animal rescue being too involved with people rescue.  I work as a telephone counsellor for lifeline so I understand the importance of involvement and every little bit helping.  Im going to look into what New Zealand has going in this field and maybe involve my boys (11 and 14) and some of their friends.  I think its good for kids to be involved in causes.

good ideas here its sad that animals are abused, but its also sad when human children are abused and even murdered.  It can be a cruel world we live in

I commend you! You're doing great work! We're a cat family, which is currently owned by just one cat...

Cats
we have a wild cat loose in our village in England, and no one can cat it! It's causing havoc with other cats, and has a price on it's head, as it's running up vets bills.
