I'm sure the camel competition brings back many fond memories for them of those lonely nights on the caravan trail!

A lot of this stuff is straight out of 'Maclean's', others out of 'Scientific American' and 'Discover', some of my other favourite magazines! I couldn't make that stuff up if I tried....

Re: Re: Re: Enigmatic
He knows he is, but he's been doing it since he was about 14 years old. And as far as fanaticism (I'm not that saying you are one) but my aunt (I'm sure), would support the law that 's been talked about recentlty, where a child could call the police on their parent(s) and have them arrested for child abuse, for smoking in the house - to me, that's fantatical an stupid! Let's focus on terrorists and illegal immigrants, not smokers, for God's sake!

Re: Re: Enigmatic
I would say your bro is setting a bad example! I think the evidence is in, and is incontrovertible, with the one qualification that some people show a lower susceptibility to certain ill effects than others. With some it may be so low that they're not severely affected in a normal life time...

the Jays have one of those dog days here in Toronto each year, and a herd of camels wouldn't rag me there for that occasion...

Re: Enigmatic
I am an "ex', but, truth be told - I am not a fanatic about it - my aunt, who quit many years ago, would have all smokers hauled off to prison! And, I'm still not covinced of the "facts" surrounding the dangers of 2nd hand-smoke. My father smoked (and inhaled) cigars for years - he died of renal-cell (kidney) cancer - the smoking may or may not have had anything to do with it. I also have a brother who's a doctor, who smokes (cigs.) - go figure!

It wasn't a contest but, the Chicago White Sox chose to stage their annual Bring Your Dog Day tonight on the Royals’ first appearance this season at U.S. Cellular Field. 502 silly people took their dogs to the game. Can you imagine sitting through a baseball game in those stadium seats with your dog either on your lap or sitting between your legs. It would be my luck to be sitting right in front of a big one that decided to lift its leg and pee all over my back or head.

But what does the camel get?
I'm assuming it would have little use for cash or an SUV.
