I had to go back and read it again.  I DID ramble on, didn't I.  My point that I didn't make too well was that so much of life isn't how hard you work, it's just getting the breaks and then making the most of them.  My parents, being well educated themselves, encouraged us to excel. Four out of five of us are college degreed and have led successful lives.  Sometimes I just have to remind my husband that money won't find him the happiness he so desires. He gets envious of other people's breaks. He loses sight of his own success and hard work.

Gee, that post was full of a different kind of writing from your usual.  Your Dad certainly had uncanny skills didn't he?  My Dad was so frugal, he'd follow the mailman picking up all the elastics.........
