I agree...at least 16 for anything out of the ordinary....like ear piercings. Maybe I would allow a nose piercing at 16...but a tongue piercing?  Someone should at least have finished high school, and have some maturity and understanding before that happens.

Sunny...
I'm a pretty easy going person, BUT this is a little girl who is COMPLETELY uncapable of understanding that 10 years from now she might wish she hadn't done this.  I just think that in regard to piercings (except for ears) and tattoos a person must be 18 before they can get it.  Maybe 16 with adult consent.  I can't find any reason to condone this!

I can't even begin to think about what was going through the mind of the parent(s) when they condoned this.

It is way wrong. And I have to keep wondering...what prompted this?
It's so horrible.

WTF? I repeat...WTF???????????
I didn't even let my daughter get her ears pierced til' she was 10.  That's way wrong in my book!  Geeez!

Yes! You never know what can happen.  My ears have tears from my mother getting my ears pierced when I was quite young, and she used to wear those "hoop" like earings on me, that always got caught on things when, especially at night when I slept.

One of my earing holes is
torn from sports.  Now, ears and tongue are not in the same category, but can you imagine some poor kid having to walk around with a snake tongue?  What a crazy story!  Those parents must be nuts.

Oh my
That's way too young for such a thing. What ever is that parent thinking? Well that parent probably isn't thinking...

That's just stupid on the parent's part.

Homeschooling parents have courage, determination & love. But I blame TV &
the media as much as blame schools. If authorities can control all media not to say good things about certain religions, or races, or communism...they can also protect our children form sexual oerversion and filthy habits. Parent that I am, I sometimes just throw up my hands when the commercials are so risque that TV dramas seem mild in ciomparison...how do I control content when the commercials are so exploitative & cheap on sex/sensationalsim?

You know I've heard a joke about it somewhere...that if men really enjoyed that kind of pleasure, you would see tons of men walking around with their knuckles pierced. LOL

I agree with you that there should be laws against piercing of tongue
for school going girls.

It's absolutely absurd for a parent to allow a child to do something so "adult" ... not to mention, potentially dangerous (infection).

P.S. What is the purpose, actually? I'd always wondered about that myself.

I believe in making the world safe for our children,
but not our children's children,
because I don't think children should be having sex.

It's really nuts. What's even more nuts, is the fact that I've known her mother since I was about 9 yrs. old.
She just recently moved back, next door, a few years ago.  She seems like such a good mother (though I don't know her well anymore, and haven't been around her much)...I just don't understand this.

Sunny, I agree, that's just crazy...at that age I wanted a tatoo...glad
my parents said no...I'm tatoo free even today!
