I have a couple of them..as bulbs blow out I am in the replacement process. I had no idea about the mercury though..DOH!

would those CFL's be the same as the lamps they've been promoting over here for some years now? They call them saving-lamps. We even got one free for two years on a row! Ugly things, wouldn't want to put them in one of my fittings!

I've installed a number of these & never had a clue about the mercury
content. Sounds like you've hit on a growth industry - light bulb cleanup. The same guys who clean up crime scenes and flood damage could double their business...

Outrageous! And speaking of outrageous, the next time I see (and hear) Gov. Schriverbanger compare himself to the late, great, President Ronald Wilson Reagan, I'm going to find a big old hammer (or what ever it was), and do what that woman did in the classic "1984"-inspired, computer commercial - to my television screen!
