Thanks for commenting, but why does Cuba's complicity in the Cuban Missile Crisis keep coming to mind when I read how Cuba's problems are America's fault?

Historically speaking, a good deal of Cuba's problems have come at the
hands of the United States, Writeroflight. Our foreign policy concerning that tiny nation has been strange, ill-considered, and devastating to the Cuban economy. Don't get me wrong, it's a two-way street as far as the political posturing goes. But our heavy-handedness toward Cuba over the years has been more than punitive. And we can't fall back on the old line of "well, they're a bunch of Communists." So what? We've dealt with and are still dealing with communist governments and worse all over the world. Cuba was made an object lesson for the world (with some help from Fidel and company). And when Fidel dies, bet me the lesson will be over and relations will be normalized with the succeeding government...
