I had my last child when I was 42, I am young acting because of that but at the same time my daughter expects me to keep up with her friends parents

I remember when my Dad died many years ago and my son had just grown up he was so angry with his Pa. He was just at the age to sit and listen to the stories and then his grandfather died. But does he listen to me? No

I was the youngest child born to 'old' parents so by the time I started
school my parents looked like grandparents at age 47 compared to the children of parents in their 20 s. I didnt appreciate how lucky I was until later years when the combination of youthful sprits and wisdom made such an impact on my life. The result is that Ive always valued and respected older people greatly. They have soooooo much to offer.

I sometimes dont set good examples but at the same time I can teach those to learn from my mistakes so they dont make them too

I think the best way to get good advice is to know that you are setting a good example in what you are doing yourself. In this way, the natural flow of give and take becomes fair for the most part, and you lead as you are led. Age has little to do with it, since getting old and dying are not anyone's goals. We are so often in a state of unconscious learning as we see and follow the examples of others.
