There are few sorrows deeper than friends gone
The heart shredded, yanked from anchors of hope
Gone that friendship thought noble and our own
Taken off for greener pastures, or dope
Opiate of the masses, acquiring!
Things of this world till the excess hardens
Sentiment to a cash cow for milking...

Excellent!
a lot said in two breaths! Life is so short....exhale. I held my baby in my arms yesterday, he turned 20 last week, tomorrow I'll blink and he'll be forty...of course I'll only be two days older! Well written.

I didn't hear from a friend
for a while. Turns out she had three heart attacks. She's okay now, as much as can be expected for someone having had three heart attacks. It's nice when you get a second chance at a friendship. Take care
