Y es the left has the majority, but as I have so often said in the past, the Democrats are more and or less just like the republicans for the most part. The reasons they can't get anything done is the more conservative democrats are not helping at all. Minimum wages was not increased because the republicans and the conservative democrats voted against it, unless there was a whole bunch of stuff added in then and there, instead of doing what was right and letting it pass and then adding in the needed tax breaks, which is what the majority of democrats were wanting to do. At least unlike the conservatives, the left seems to be trying to dud something real to help fix the real problems here at home. If they had a clear majority, then it might happen.
Also, it is fairly well known that one of the main reasons the Democrats did so well in this last election was because Americans want to get out of the war with Iraq. And the Democrats are doing what needs to be done to achieve that. So what they put some 'pork' into it. At least most of that pork will actually help build up a stronger country. is would much rather see us go into deep debt over fixing the problems here at home, above spending billions more on a war that is nothing more than a waste of money and lives. But I guess I am more worried about making this country as great as it can be, not about trying to pretend to help other countries out just so some people an make money off of it all.
As for Global warming, that has never once been one of the issues I've been passionate about. it is too much up in the air. There is however actual scientific research that says there is a problem, and that was what my comment there was about. You cannot go and compare a simple joke about toilet paper use to actual science and think you look intelligent.
And at least now I know why you showed up in one of my posts and acted as childish as it gets. Maybe I can ask Xeno to come here and make you feel better by telling you you are good. Reading the comment you left for him here and the one you left for me ion my blog, I think some old sarooster might need a big hug and a little nap and maybe some juice to help him calm down and play nice.

the liberal agenda has been sabatoged by conservatives virtually since the inception of our country.
the evil of slavery was not addressed until 1861 because of the fear of secession of the South.
civil rights
the Great Society.
all would have made great gains and helped this country move forward quite well except for the opposition of conservatives.
and they are still vehemently opposing things so that the liberal agenda, as always, becomes mired down to a virtual standstill.
all politicians are leery of going too far for fear the big donors will take their money elsewhere.
that's the bottom line.
we get away from politics as usual and we will be getting somewhere.

Your comments are just nuts.
The left is in charge now. Why can't they make things happen? Is the right that much smarter than they are (well, yes, but you can't agree to that).
A little over 51% is not a mandate and to even get those numbers the Democrats had to give away the farm. They had to buy enough votes with pork, which they promised to do away with, to even get the bill to pass by slim margins.
The left is devoid. They are just devoid of anything good. They have not done anything since they have taken over except add to global warming, if you believe in that religion, by their rhetoric.
You should be livid at Pelosi, Reid and gang for playing you and those who voted for them as fools. They prove how little you on the left have on the ball.

One of you most poorly thought out posts ever
It is the right who is going against what the people have asked for.
The right is the group who is stopping an increase in minimum wage, while the left is doing all they can to make it happen.
It is the right who are not listening toe the people, who want our soldiers returned home, since there is NO WAY we can win. We don't want to loose, we just have enough sense to see when things are not going to end well and would rather cut our loses than make things worse. It would be like staying on the Titanic after the ship has broken in half, trying to claim that it is just a minor set back and can be fixed in time. Trust me, if you stayed on board, you were going to drown.
As for Crow, how dumb to you have to be to try and connect joking around with the scientific research into global warming?
It is posts like yours here that really show that conservatives should not be taken seriously in the least. It is why the left took over congress and most likely the same kind of thing that will give the left the White House here real soon.
