may be all we are doing same ..i like the talk when it reflect
our deep self or feelings it is  the most time   in which  we are honest with our self

Well, if it is indeed "..a sign of insecurity or an inferiority complex..."

Then I (and many others) suffer the same thing.

It's odd how well we remember the past; not so much for the positive things but the negative ones. It's like the pain is unforgettable or something. Very strange.
