It sounds odd to say you know the meaning of life.
I majored in Religion/Philosophy, did some time in seminary.  For as long as I can remember, I've lacked motivation because of this very question.  Why are we here?  What is this place?  And I figured, what is the point?  I don't even know the meaning of life, so how am I to live it?  So, my fourteen year-old son asked me one night, "Dad, what does all this mean.  Why are we here?"  So now I'm thinking, aw shit, I have no idea, but the moment he asked the question, I had an answer.  It came from nowhere.  I asked him, "This conversation we're having - is it meaningful to you?  How about your time with your friends?  Our family, when we're just watching a movie - or film club at school - do you find meaning in those things?"  He said "Yes."  I said, "You're looking at the planet from too far away - you might as well be on the space station.  You see all this activity around you - all this building up and tearing down and people working and crying and laughing and it seems meaningless.  The meaning of life is right in front of you, every day."
