Go to Religion in the Modern World

- Go to A warning for a few bloggers
Corbin_Dallas - it seemed by your comment that you had missed the first
lines of the second paragraph.
I saw my name go by in comments which turned out to be by someone whom I had long forgotten existed and the words were decidedly unkind. These words in turn fostered a few more unkind comments from people that I never read or comment on. This has happened before with these people, I do not invite dialogue with them nor do I want to hear from them yet they must be reading my posts. So if your first comment was intended for them it has some validity.
As for these types of things producing the desired results; absolutely. If they want to act so childish and be so obtuse, I have absolutely no qualm about riding them and beating them like a rented mule up the blog rankings.

Let me see.....
I am being criticized for commenting on a post without supposedly reading it....yet your posting about something you apparently brag that you haven't read......go figure. BTW, I did read your post....I don't go the backdoor route chosen by so many around here. I also know nothing about disparaging remarks about you.....I didn't see them.
My point is that when one knowingly goes to a site and goes on the attack as happened...they should expect a response. The parties involved openly dislike one another so why jump in and start it up all over again?
Frankly....I have been seeing all of the comments about childish behavior in the offended parties comment sections......I 'm just trying to understand what the difference is when bloggers go to sites and comment back and forth.....about people commenting back and forth...Pot, kettle, black???
But all the excitement does get one the desired results from time to time, doesn't it?

Corbin_Dallas - it's probably a good idea to read a post before you comment
The point you seem to have missed is that within the comments of persons that I do
not read, some I haven't read for over a year, they felt it their right to disparage me. There is quite a difference between reading those who's writing and opinions we dislike, as you are suggesting; and investigating why disparaging remarks about us are found on the site comments page. One particularly insulting remark, the type of comment that no one need stand for, and by someone who should know better, has been deleted by the blog owner. I hadn't had dialogue with the author for about 17 months.

Edna_P - I have to agree that there is an element of compulsive disorder at
play amongst some of these people.
And it varies in degree dramatically. Thanx for stopping in.

Here's a thought......
If you don't like what someone has to say.....don't read them and especially don't comment on them......

Certain Personality Types
have to see things in black and white. They can't help it. Call it obsessive compulsive personality, which is different from OCD. Nice reading you.

MoonSpirit - that is well said - it does make one wonder how so many people
in this world can proclaim to be adherents to a particular faith yet continue to set such bad examples.
For some of these people the proclamation itself, hearing it from other people or making it known that they belong to a certain religion, seems to completely outweigh any notion of actually exemplifying the religious message that they claim to adhere to.

-blackcat - you didn't miss anything, I'm the one that walked into traffic
with my eyes shut.
Some people simply lack the maturity to understand that their behaviour belies their self proclamation of being devout believers. It makes one wonder what it is that they believe in exactly? ....do they believe that schoolyard antics of gossip and childish games should be maintained past middle age?

RckyMtnActivist -I noticed that the one comment that really annoyed me has
been deleted.
It's a good thing too as it was worthy of a complaint. . . and this from someone who I have not had dialogue with since the summer of 2005.

---Masky--- - I'm at a point where happenings on Blogit cannot upset me
I do however get a little annoyed when someone that I never have had dialogue with and for the most part ignore, takes ill informed potshots at me.

To my (limited) knowledge, no great spiritual leader tolerated, taught or preached meanspiritedness, condemnation, judgmentalness, back-biting, hypocrisy, etc., etc. To my (limited) knowledge, such teachers taught love, acceptance, forgiveness, looking at one’s own faults and overlooking the faults of others, etc., etc. To my (limited) knowledge, all great spiritual men and women emphasized one’s getting one’s own (ethical, moral, spiritual) house in order and not worrying about what his/her brother/sister is doing or not doing. Fortunately, I am blissfully ignorant of the matter(s) you refer to. With behavior such as you describe it is no wonder that so many are disgusted with ‘organized religion’. MoonSpirit

I guess I missed something again... but if it has to do with
religion, then I try to stay far away too.... people just can't see the gray area or find common ground. It gets ugly fast.

Gome...I know the situation you are talking about cannot believe that
a certain person(s) does not see the hypocrisy and mean-spiritedness in their posts and comments. Makes me crazy...I stay away! Sorry you got sucked in!

Gome...
...one minute I laugh about the irony in the conversations and wars around here, but then I
accidentally get caught up in something (as you did) and it's suddenly not laughable anymore. ESPECIALLY when your name is used out of context or your likeness is used, abused, or slung through the mud. Ah...so-called human beings...what a brood of reckless wonders!
