"integrity is nearer truth than righteousness."

Now that was a great line.  I may have to borrow it from you and use it in one of my writings.

I have found the write to be an interesting commentary on Righteousness v/s Integrity. It is true that righteousness comes from without, that is, from a set rule of beliefs, not your own, but integrity is from within, the faith that one has in oneself. So, to me, integrity is nearer truth than righteousness.

kooka_lives - this is another thing that upon occasion will flabbergast me
Most other times however I am entertained. It is so incredibly shallow. It's like the concepts of right and wrong haven't sunk in yet, even as some of these folks approach middle age. Pity the older ones, they are nothing more than objects of our pity. Some of these folks have their signals so crossed by their conflicting religious beliefs that they have been rendered mentally challenged. Basic and rudimentary honesty, the cornerstone of integrity, completely escapes them. I also get a few chuckles out of those who retain deniability . . . there's no hope for them.
