Scramble, this is the most beautiful and touching poem Ive read in a while.
Considering you were so young and in a situation of trauma your unselfishness and love for your boy comes through.  Im so glad you found each other.

yes those were the days that it was a shame to have a baby, nowadays every one have 3 or 4 with different men.  It was my 18 year son that didnt think 42 year old women should do such things.  He is ok now since its been almost 21 years and we all did great even without the sob dad

Lustorlove--thanks for your input and response! I had mine in October 1958-
and the place I stayed in was like a 'workhouse'! No-I simply can't guess who it was that thought you were terrible! (Ha Ha). Thanks for sharing that.God bless-Chris.

yes in some families a unwed mother was a shame and it depends when it was. if it was during the time I grew up it definitely was a shame, very nice poem for a sweet innocent child.  I had a child out of wedlock at age 42, now guess who it was the thought I was terrible?

Chris - A mother and her child will NEVER be parted.....

You were so brave despite what happened, and you have put a remembrance seal in your heart with this poem. Bless you and may God take you in his right hand and embrace you.

What a wonderful gift, and at many levels. To the lad, for 2 new parents, US
---don't apologize for reposts. They are necessary. Like taking a driver's ed course, or re-reading how to cope with a colicky baby, or deal with teens. WE all need some good lessons/words repeated. I am not equating your great achievement to the Holy Bible, but Chris, you ALWAYS loved the lad, and that is the greatest gift to him. Few teen moms have enough balance to write a poem of such generosity during a time  of conflicting emotions. Brava. God Bless You and your families richly. Amen. shalomfromneil

Ask me to be in the other side of the road
When we return back to the missing word
When each one of us lived the same pain
But when GOD heals our history they love us again
You are my sister who I had never MET
But my soul is so close to yours in fire melt
It is small world but may be that what GOD meant
                   your friend the stranger
