I often console myself with the ultimate protest LLM - a turned off TV.

Yep Kabu, thank goodness for SBS both for the news and other news related shows. There are still people around who have some conception of what journalism is meant to be.

Hi Rob I'm another from down under and I so agree with you. I have to
watch SBS news sometimes to find out about the world.

Well said, Rob.  I don't watch the news at all.  Probably not a good thing, but I can't handle it.  People continuously piss me off with their stupid behaviour, and anyway, celebraties are just ordinary people with a hell of a lot more money in their pockets and piggy banks.

I'll bet you any amount of money the news cooperations don't pay nearly as much attention to the accidental death of the average person, yet someone dies every single day all around the world.

I heard somewhere once that somewhere in the world, every 2 seconds, a new life enters it.  Every three seconds, someone leaves it.

Amazing, isn't it?

I think this whole Anna Nicole thing has been handled disgracefully, anyway.  She was a person, nothing more or less, who had some very serious problems.

For her beautiful little daughter, I am outraged and heart broken.  If you were to ask me, I'd tell you straight faced I think that the press is losing more and more compassion, respect, and the willingness to treat EVERYONE with dignity.

I know others will disagree, but that's just how I feel.
