Offy hon,
I believe I remember reading that at around that time they had a ranger up there who would get dressed up as a bear and crawl into tents, licking women's toes...

Rumored
I took some European visitors up North one year, and a couple of bears came up to the car. One of the guys in the back was going reach out the window and pat one of them! Can you believe that? I told him to keep his f****** hand to himself if he wanted to keep it...

My parents went camping in northern Michigan on their honeymoon. Anyway a bear came into their tent and licked my Mom's toes. She said it was rather scary...lol

Naut, it's been a few years, but the last time we stayed in Algonquin Park
the black bears came right into camp..no fear whatsoever...and there was about 10 of us...we do our camping now in lodges or cottages (still risky, I know)...

Good afternoon, hon
well, these are serious matters! And, while I think of it, you should also be very careful of wolves...

"I'd rather be party to dropping a bear than be part of a bear's droppings"
The above, I believe, is attributable to a long gone pope, a comment made to a rhetorical rejoinder about bears crapping in the woods.
