I don't follow U.S. politics too closely - I confess I find it rather confusing. I am familiar with who Pelosi is though and although I've not been watching her closely sounds likes she's shooting herself in the foot. There something to be said for decorum, dignity, and thinking before you speak.

They have just used some of those gases. This war is not the bad of our President but the poor loosers of the last two elections. Al Gore is finishing tearing down the country on a false notion. He is the worst of the lot.

I agree with you. This is so totally out there it is dangerous in an incredible manner. She is the 'wrong' person for such a talk. Actually no one the President does not send should go. That is what we have a Secretary of State for, not the speaker of the house.

Great post Justi!!
Our higher-ranking officials that the world knows need to stay our of these places. It's Ok for the lower-rung guys, both Republican and Democrats, to go to some of these places. I don't think the President has qualms with that. Pelosi is just wrong. She is just a "wrong" person. She is a traitor and should be tried for treason.

Amen! Not only could that money have gone far to fund the war. But the fact that we keep paying those senators and congressmen after they retire the same salaries they drew when working. They pay no social secureity into the kitty. Some one said to me but they don't take any out,....Duh! We just keep paying full salaries..... Why don't we look at all of them carefully and forget about Democrat and Republican and demand action to get a government for the people and by the people.... It isn't now.

I appreciate your comment. I have absolutely no respect at all for Republican or Democrat who try to be a big shot and lie, go places they should not and she was more showy and indignant than any of the others. But I don't care who they are. They are tearing the constitution to bits. There are certain issues that belong to the Commander in Chief and I have never heard anyone say one good thing about him in any manner. There is much to see that is good about the man even from the point of a Democrat. She has played the whore in this situation. Not one of those people had the right to go. Not many of them made national news, you have to go to media blogs to find it out. Everybody up there appears to have been striken dumb as a door knob.

The first law of politics...
Never put any politician on a pedestal, they all serve their own or some special interest, it sadly is the only way they can gain power. With all the money Barak and Clinton alone have raised, couldn't we instead cure cancer? How about all the money from the election, what could that do? Oh yea, no more political TV ads, it would be nirvana.

Justi, any ideas why there is silence; no anger over Republican lawmakers
doing the same?: on April 1, Reps. Frank Wolf (R-VA), Joseph R. Pitts (R-PA) and Robert Aderholt (R-AL) traveled to Damascus and met with Assad, two days before Pelosi's scheduled trip.
Also: The selective criticism by some in the media of Pelosi's planned visit to Syria mirrors conservatives' attacks on several Democrats who traveled to Damascus in December 2006. As Media Matters noted, numerous conservative media figures assailed Democratic Sens. Bill Nelson (FL), John Kerry (MA), and Christopher Dodd (CT) for meeting with Assad but ignored Sen. Arlen Specter's (R-PA) meeting with the Syrian president later that month. http://mediamatters.org/items/200704020007
No disrespect of your view intended, just food for thought..

Believe me, I know how you feel. You look at, and listen to, people like Speaker Pelosi, and think, "How in the hell did she get to be 3rd in line for the presidency - fortuanately, I have the late, great President Reagan's optimism, and I know it's only a matter of time before things get better - especially with bloggers like you spreading the truth to the masses!
