waste lives, not just lose them
160 k or thereabouts in Iraq, others that have been.
their lives are wasted over there rather than being put to productive use over here for themselves and the rest of us.
constitutionality is this: congress declares war; the President then commands the war -- that is the original intent. Presidents have sidestepped that intent. This one does not want congress to control him -- the balance of power as outlined in the constitution is in jeopardy.
patriotism is bringing back the original intent of the Founding Fathers, and not going into wars with no good purpose.

It may be what you term patriotism; however, it is not according to the constitution. We have no such range as 10,000. We had more killed in auto accidents than we have had killed in the war totally. This is about anger, frustration at losses in the voting booths. It is not about an administration. It has been made about an administration.

patriotism is not allowing some stupid administration to start a war
over nothing and then expecting tens of thousands of our youth to waste their lives fighting it.

I may have mentioned this before - my mother's father fought in WWI, and then was a drill sergeant during WWII, helping to get the troops into shape to go fight the evil, Axis powers. I know a friend of a friend who returned home safely (thank God!) from Iraq, about a year ago. Your patriotic posts are always appreciated. I honestly think our friend "xeno-x" is mentally disturbed, therefore I pay no attention to his views!

My oldest son was killed in an automobile accident while serving in the Viet Nam war. It makes no difference where it is or how it happens it is still a terrible happening.

It is amazing how people do not understand this war. They do not understand the basics.

It is just awful...Never has there been a time in our history where the enemy of freedom will not only know when we are leaving, but will be able to plan their take over of the young democracy of Iraq. America is turning into the gutless wonder of France. American people actually believe the enemy is within. America has lost it fortitude to fight for something worth having. America will be next. If America doesn't wake up we will be the Riveria for the whole radical Islamic movement. Yesterday in NJ they held a mock terrorist attack at a school. The mock enemy was Christians. Blew my mind..they were afraid of offending the Muslims so they used Christians instead...this activity going on in a nation that was founded under God. Oh it's a sad day all right....for many reasons my dear lady~

Sorry, I accidentally pushed "enter" before I finished my comment! My heart and soul are with you - my cousin, who is a D.O. in the army, has lost friends in Iraq - I have a friend here in Crown Point, IN, who served in Iraq, who is now a county police officer, who lost friends in Iraq. I assure you, that you are not alone in the support of our troops!
