You have my sympathies, I have one diverticulosis, but so far (knock on wood) it has not become infected. After my colonoscopy I am taking a probiotic to replenish the bacteria all the "cleansing" wiped out. Probiotics are more than acidopholis, they contain multiple organisms and some can be tailored for specific ailments. But, a conventional doctor will probably never tell you about them, I learned of them from a naturopath I have seen on occasion. You might want to research this, I think it helps immensly.

They’re all fucking idiots! They’re so over indoctrinated that have to get a second and third opinion to turn a fucking doorknob and then, they can’t decide whether to turn left or to turn right. Sorry! Excuse me!

Diverticulitis is no small thing. I hope that when this episode of inflamation is relieved that you will be able to keep your diverticulosis under control without extreme measures. Good luck with it.
