It's their only "out", TIMMY. When therapy, rationalization, reasoning,
logic, and mood-altering drugs aren't enough anymore, it's time to pick up the bible and regress to superstitious paranoia and hopefulness.  God help us all...

For me it was just the opposite. As I got older I read less and less of it
I don't have much use for most of it anymore.

Hahaha, I think it's mearly the fact the people of those generations, spent more time with their religion. I'm not sure they actually started reading more just because they have become older.
