Love and marriage invokes the most powerful and unpredictable reactions/responses from people. How many times do we hear of murders and such when it's so easy to get a divorce? It's astounding what people will do when in a relationship. Twenty-five years is a long time. He could truly love her enough to give her what she wants rather than risk losing her completely. He could be terrified of being single at his age. He could be too worried about keeping up appearances. Maybe it's a combination of all these reasons or a dozen more us outsiders will never know. If he's cool with the situation, I guess that's all that matters. I seriously doubt I could go for such an arrangement, however. I'm much too selfish.
