HI.
I'm too tired to get this deep tonight. I think I'm agnostic most of the time, but my baptist background is part of who I am.

Although we have each used different words of description, I believe we both are on resonant frequencies. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the Agnostic has reached the following as his standing position: "You leave me alone with my thoughts and conclusions, and I will do the same with you. The next life, if there is one, is soon enough for me to find out for sure." I believe this is a very reasonable and balanced approach which will be most acceptable and honored by God, in that it is totally honest and comes straight from the heart. God's basic nature is, in fact, I believe, very "knowable," if one is willing to expend the considerable effort to acquire that knowledge (although this knowedge is not at all necessary or required for "salvation".)
Thank you for your highly-valued input, and you already know if you have read some of my most recent posts, that I think that perhaps your position is the very best of them all!

I am an agnostic, and I think we have some common ground. With respect to your previous post: an agnostic doesn't just say 'I can't be bothered.' Before he gets to that position, he has come to the conclusion that God (even if there is a God) is unknowable in principle.
And that, in turn, is based on his understanding of the difference between 'knowing' and 'believing'... (This holds true at least for the 'ideal' agnostic).

Yes, indeed, Parallel universes could be "The Theory of Everything." And it is exciting to me - tremendously exciting! The greatest trip in the world is to explore the marvelous mind of God. Someday, even Science will discover this. In fact, I don't think that day is far away!
Thanks for your encouraging remarks, and join me on our next journey!

FoilageGold's remarks
Read your short bio. Sounds like you've been to Hell and back! But it sounds like you're back with us now, and I am glad for that. I will start reading your novels, because they must come from real life, and from your heart (which are the very best kind). I look forward to that. Thanks for responding, and have one Hell of a nice day!

GE -
I'm likin' it! Your mention of God being in a different dimension reminded me of a program I was watching on the Science Channel the other night about parallel universes. It's fascinating to think about the possibility of other universes explaining all of the phenomena in our particular universe - which is exactly what this program was about. Parallel universes could be the "Theory of Everything" that has been searched for for decades!

Interesting post - my wife died of cancer too by the way. I am back here to publish my second book, a short novel, mainly about Africa.

These are ways of exploring God, and there must be as many avenues as possible to explore. One will reach one day, but herein lies the difficulty.. it may not be in one life. Many many are required, and that is where people fail to se the miracle of the Great One. Thanks for sharing.

I can sense the change in your spirit. Soon, everwhere you look, whether into the horizon or the stars above, you will hear, if only in a distant smile or the twinkle of a star, "There is no need to fear. I am here."
Have a great day! Carpe diem!

That is the God I know, a comforting loving God, and all we have to do is pay attention to the ways He may choose to communicate with each individual one of us.
Yes, He is an extremely personal God, and He spoke to my depraved mind, and made me hear what I needed to hear to fix the chip He had put in my head. lol

Have it your way, and trust in the words you choose. I promised you at the beginning that I will neither argue with you nor preach to you, and I will do neither. Some will see it one way; others will see it another. I will, however, encourage you to have an open mind and to use it to weigh and to consider. That responsibility falls on no one but yourself.
I will continue to be concerned for you, and I hope to be always your friend.

You are correct, God is not stupid. Nor is he common. Common sense is not a resource for analyzing the ways of God. He says his thoughts are not our thoughts and our thoughts are not his. I respect you and I am not arguing with you. There is nothing to argue about. You are not talking of the God, the Creator of the Universe, of man and of the Jews and Christians because I know him personally this is not him. Be blessed and enlightened.

Justi's question
So, from what Bible did I get the belief that there is no Satan or Everburning hell? ANSWER: From the Bible of common sense! #1 - God is not a stupid God. He would never have created a Devil in the first place; nor would He have created any Angelic being who was even capable of becoming Satan. This concept is totally incompatible with the rest of the Bible's projection of God as a compassionate God. God is our Father, and we are His children. He loves us even more than we love our own children. Would you, even with your own limited humanly love for your children, ever, ever construct "an automatic whippping and children-beating machine, tie your wayward child unescapably to the foot of his bed and decree that he would be eternally beaten and have tooth picks or sharp, metal pins driven beneath his fingernails, etc, etc."
Would you? No? Then, neither would God. God is not a Sadistic God. He does not enjoy seeing His children suffer. If the nature of a child's offense is so terribly sinful as to justify such an eternal sentence, then it would be far more compassionate to simply terminate his life. This is exactly what the Most loving God will do. The concept of Satan and a perpetual torture chamber is an invention of man, not God. It is totally ir-recomsiliable with a compassionate God. Even the Atheists see this. Why can't you? If this nature and intent is written in the Bible, it was put there by man, not God. Such a concept is revolting and disgusting!
