Life is always. . .
two steps forward, one step back for me. We gotta be where we are. I think you're faced in the right direction!

Neil-hallo.Thank you for your wise words! Yes-that's what I hope I'm doing-
putting the past in perspective.(That is-not on my own but with the support of my therapist-we talk about my 'mood of the moment'-and he gives his version of the reasons) I come home-decipher and then 'write' about my feelings!Then-you and everyone else who comments-provide me with further insight ! This is so wonderfull! Many thanks again.shalomfromchris.

MoonSpirit-many thanks for popping in and your response.I like it!
By your reckoning-the future holds a great deal of niceties! Thanks.Chris.

Sounds like a plan. I second it.........
Not all the looking back is bad; you seem to put all of it in perspective. At least in these writings. That's the benefit of being a writer; you won't need a therapist. Stay healthy, hearty and hopping to poetry. shalomfromneil

First your future will rhyme, and then it becomes a song. Sing it loudly and with joy and, what the heck, dance a little too if you like. MoonSpirit

Hallo Troosha--many thanks for your response to this particular poem.
I appreciate what you have said.Bruce-(my therapist)-has given me glimpses of 'life out there'-it's ME holding back-I know that! I've been taking little steps-trying new things-etc.but I'm not even sure myself-what I 'can' strive for? What IS within my reach and-more to the point-I still have my youngest son and my partner at home-whom I have 'been there for'-for so very long! .I do enjoy SOME 'my time' with friends-possibly once a week--but I feel there HAS to be 'something more'?Thanks again-Chris.

You have been through so much. Perhaps instead of two steps you should break out of your shell and take 3 or maybe even 4!  Life, happiness, and the joy we all deserve awaits you.

Congratulations on a job well done!  Yes, it's very easy to slide into the land of the unknown and the comfortable rather than stepping off the plane into a seemingly foreign world as perhaps Japan --where the language, customs and culinary delights totally confuse or frighten us.  Good on you!  --Joy!Mary

Hallo NAJWA! I was getting worried as I have not heard from you lately-(on
my site)-So very good to have your response to this latest poem! I do know what your saying-(in part)-every day is the same as the last-very difficult to change.But-then I think of those who can't change it for one or another reasons-then I feel guilty at myself for being dissatisfied? Can't really win-when I play games with my mind.I'm just pleased that-what you see as my wisdom--leads you to rays of hope and faith! I will take a leaf out of your book-if I may? Luv you loads Najwa-Chris.

I enjoy your way of writing very much
It draws me in & I can relate, it's always nice to have proof other people feel as we do ourselves...even though we know it deep down already!!!

Thanks so much OTA-problem is 'we' can't just yank ourselves into
lightness-I guess that's why we are-who we are-Writers-with a capital ' W'.Chris.
