cantey_1975 - that is ultimately the real value of debate, even if it is of
an acrimonious nature.
It sharpens the mind and conditions one to organize their thought processes.

I have learned
how to be a little more skillfull in conversing with people who strongly contend against my own faith. An invaluable tool in my estimation.

Xeno-x - I cannot believe some of the things I have seen posted in blogs
and comments pertaining to religion.
Some of the people we have seen in this category defy description. From the long departed pastor who had just about the ugliest personality that I have ever known to the wannabe messiah who actively pursued and attempted to slander all of the non believers on this site. It is human nature to remember these people, the decent folks get lost in the background of the crap that a handful of people throw around so willingly. Even after acknowledging that we are witnessing an extreme fringe element of a much larger group, it makes one shudder to think that there are so friggin many of them.

OTA. - we can't help but learn a few things that we had not considered
before while interacting in this type of environment.
We especially learn of human nature as it pertains to religious beliefs and of how prevailing societal attitudes affect beliefs.

OTA. - despite tongue in cheek assertions - I have learned a lot about what
others believe during my time on Blogit.
From the extremely lucid and well constructed postulations of people such as arGee to the not so lucid and not so well constructed lunatic ramblings of some others.
