TAPS- there may well be more truth to the mental anguish part than we know
I had a go around with this guy after he attacked me and did in fact club him over the head a few times but began to realize that it was not a fair fight. Your tongue in cheek suggestions of my verbal sparring abilities aside (very well put I might add, had just the right sprinkle of sarcasm to make the point and be funny at the same time) ..... it isn't any fun when the other guy can't defend himself.

cantey_1975 - he had developed a habit of turning my Blogit user name into

a two syllable insult until I stopped him from doing so.

The second word began with the capitolized "D" and rhymed with "numb".

It sounds as if the poor fellow was beside himself with the inability to champion his beliefs against the majestic repartee that comes so easily to you.  It is hilarious if one discounts his apparent mental anguish.

where did he get the inclination
to capitilize the "d" midway through your name?

Troosha - the inability to separate political ideals from religious beliefs

boggles my mind as well.

In this case the gentleman who was insistent on attaching political ideals to me that I do not hold, nor had ever expressed as holding came to his conclusions in his usual convoluted way. To him Christianity is the American way, all good red, white and blue Americans are Christians, all non Christians living in the USA are anti American or at the very least; somehow not deserving to be called Americans. All of this is part of a mental conditioning that has certain people attempting to view the world in a cut and dried or black and white fashion.

Xeno-x - the following link may jog your memory about the guy who
preached a fundamentalist version of Christianity while giving out tips for bedding females via deception. HERE

having lcicked on TVBlogger 's llink I must say

this is a capital site to counter the cons who spout the "Christian nation" and "Christian" founding fathers hogwash.

and to be sure, we all can now use quotes from this site when the issue rears its ugly head again.

bed females?

sounds like Moses David to me.

back in the 70's -- his group was around some -=- pipcked up a couple of them hitchhiking -- had Kooka's sister in the car though.  Woman had a thin blouse with no bra and maybe a button somewhere near the middle unbuttoned -- quite a sight -- then I read a piece critical of them showing that they use esx to "lure" converts.

now that can be a good subject for one of your future posts.

maybe your adversary is from that group.

It seems that for a Christian fundamentalist anything beyond his/her sacred box becomes communistic.  Ummm.... don't quite get that.  Isn't one a political/social stance and the other a religious conviction.  I bet one could even be a Christian Communist!

Idiotic
but funny.

mark2556 - no kidding - it is a mind set from a few decades ago and a

redneck mindset to boot.

I wonder if he beleived in the Russian weather machine? You know the one, developed during the cold war by the Kremlin to give us lousy weather at the flick of a switch? . . . but waddya expect from those Godless commies?

Pat_B - I think you are right in how the connection was made
Communism=atheism=satanism in the minds of some people to this day. It is rather flabbergasting how a religious message that is supposed to be promoting love of thy neighbour produces so many people that do not exemplify this.

You damn Ruskies ~
Better dead than red, Ivan.  Love it or leave it.  If you had a job you wouldn't have time to grow that long hair.  Who copped my Oreo?

TVBlogger - this gentleman provided no end of entertainment
Somehow he had construed the First Amendment of the US Constitution to serve his own purposes. To him, the following words: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."  . . . meant that he could do and say anything he chose to do in furtherance of his religion but no one else had that right if they weren't promoting Christianity. I found the site for which you dropped a link interesting. You never see those quotes from early presidents used too often.

Some folks thing "communist" is the equivalent of "satanic"
and that a communist state is located within the gates of hell. I guess the good Christian who suggested you leave the country was just telling you to go to hell, in the best sense of the word.  It's a mystery to me why those who profess Christian values and brotherly love are the least accepting and loving.

Gome
There wasn't one part of that quote that wasn't absurd and funny.  For anyone wanting to educate themselves on our "Christian" founding fathers, check out this site.  I see his reacion here on this site as well... don't like Blogit then leave.  Sadly, it's a human reaction to hearing something they don't want to hear.

Xeno-x - the funny part of this is that he never clued in that I live in

Canada.

Funny because this comment was preceded by an email exchange where I returned one of his lunatic ravings from my Yahoo.ca email. What did he think the ".ca" stood for? California?

Ariala - this guy cracked me up when I wasn't concerned about his mental

health and what he might be capable of.

I received a few emails from him that could only be described as completely insane. When he was not preaching his version of religious insanity, he was giving tips on how to bed females via deception. . . . I wish I were kidding.

the guy's talking out of the 50's

"If you don't like this country, why don't you go to Russia?!"

Yeah it's odd that you get all the flak and not all us in the U.S. who think similarly to you.

maybe we should move to Canada.

and the oxymoron of a "free country" where "Christianity should be king."
