All love comes from God. Love IS what it IS and you don't have any control of when it happens. I think just as we expect so much from love, such as the girl in the story to the point of being over the top, so does Godexpects us to love him as much as He loves us. I also think we have too many rules restraining love, restricting it; i was sort of shocked to read how much God approves of sexual expression of love (book 3, Conversations with God). he also has pretty strict codes of conduct once solemn vows have been made in the name of love. I read that book pretty fast and should read it again.
