I am glad you got it I simply meant average. It is important to get into the issues. We don't have to cram it down people's throats, but they are thinking now. You can't say something to someone without stimulating some sort of thinking. Now they will look more; however, little it may be they will do more than they did because you have said something to them. Thanks for the comment.

I talk to people every day, Justi, with IQs around average (100-110) and
some who are quite higher. They are not up on current issues, nor are likely to get caught up on or in them. They are content to allow the world to go by without so much as blinking, allowing themselves to get mad around election day and perhaps vote, but unable to bring themselves to care or do anything at any other time. I talked to two people the other day about the current crop of presidential candidates and they asked me who I liked: I told them I liked Obama, McCain, Giuliani, and Edwards -- all for various reasons. And if I voted today? they asked. I told them I'd vote for Chuck Hagel. Both of them asked me who he was.
I rest your case...

MUst be honest
I'm one of the apathetic ones but it's because I come to Blogit to play and relax so I don't really get into serious posts - that's not to say the issues aren't important though - only that I don't get into them here. Yip, I'm an ostrich burying my head in the sand.

You are so right. We don't care enough about our country, we are spoiled and we have the guts only to slam a fellow citizen for thinking differently than we, then the politicians lie and say the people want this or that, us or them when actually they haven't a clue what the people want. Do the people know what they want?

Apathy runs deep...
It is a river threatening to wash away all intelligence. Partly, the politicians are to blame, they never seem to listen to the people they "reperesent" and appear to only be interested in taking down thier competition. Partly, the electorate is to blame for letting them get away with it for so long, I guess Amerian Idol is more interesting.
