Those you speak of are wonderful. In a couple of the group homes we have employed them to package products for us and the work was such a blessing because we met them and learned to love them. They are not who I am really talking about. Thanks for commenting.

A very interesting premise.  First of all, it is hard for me to imagine what it would be like to have an I.Q. of 69 even though I have known quite a few adults with that I.Q., or less.   Most of those that I have known are eager to be accepted, eager to please, somewhat timid (+/-) about their cognitive abilities and are characteristically highly suggestible.   I have friends that used to be managers of a group home with twelve mentally retarded adults.   They were wonderful "parents" and highly loved by their clients.   They took them everywhere, including to vote.  I just always assumed that the clients probably voted conservative Christian Republican because that's how my friends voted and were vocal about their preferences.   I would think that probably most people of that I.Q. would be influenced by those that he/she is with on a daily basis.

Well, guess I'd be voting Republican but I think I'm more a Democrat. One thing sure, I'd vote luv.

I would tell you...
Vote for the person that could best represent you.  But most important, vote.
