- Go to John Edwards' Health Plan
You must make less than $200,000!
That's who he's asking to pay for the lion's share of this. I do have one question maybe you can answer. My employer pays my insurance premium. Now, I am sure this comes out of my salary. If it costs $3 per hour for him to insure me, I make $3 per hour less. If it costs less for him to ensure me, let's say $1.50 per hour, do you think he is going to give me a $1.50 on hour, or any, raise. Also, some people don't have health insurance because of varied reasons. Maybe, by their own election, they droppsed out of school and work at a low-paying menial job. I am not saying this person, and his family, does not deserve insurance. He needs to foot the bill for that! Don't ask me to kick in. I have taken care of all that stuff during my life and I expect everyone else to do so also. Universal coverage sounds great and I think there are ways to achieve this. The plan must be fair to everyone though. I don't see Edwards' plan doing that.
