Xeno-X,

I began to read this report, but I quit on the first line. It tells us "36 cubic miles" of ice are lost in Antartica each year. That's measure of volume. We need to know how thick the ice is to see how much ice is actually being lost. So I went to this link and found that figure out, or the volume of cubic miles of ice in Antarctica : http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2000/HannaBerenblit.shtml

According to my figures the total volume of the ice sheet in Antarctica is 7,250,000 cubic miles. If we lose 36 cubic miles each year it would take 201,389 years to melt completely. That does not sound like a problem to me. How many times will we see heating and cooling cycles in that span of time.
