I just like to leave God in control of such issues. I am not sure what the out come will be but he has a plan. It is beyond my comprehension at or actually most of the time.

I am so thankful that all of my pregnancies (4) were desired and that I was never faced with a horrible dilemma regarding being pregnant. I have a lot of sympathy for those who are wracked with indecision or regret or feelings of guilt over an abortion.

Whinge....
The story id from England....but the birth occurred in Miami, FL.....
Troosha.....I just wanted to understand what you were saying...thank you for the response!
There is additional information when you click on the Link...no It's not linked to another blog of mine....I don't play that game....
The baby left the hospital today.......in great health to two perfectly normal parents......4.5 pounds.......and growing.
BTW...This post wasn't to argue the merits or wrongs of abortion....I am against it....but others have differing views........My point is that we quickly learned with the arrival of the internet....laws had to change to meet the totally new creature......to me it's no different on a social issue such as this......these laws will surely have to evolve, too.

...what lies ahead...
I meant that if a premature baby, for example, is kept alive by new medical advancements but then that child (and the parents) ends up enduring disabilities beyond our imagination – is that simply being medically heroic? Have “we” really brought that child into a joyful life? And as far as abortions are concerned I’m not suggesting we turn a blind eye to the “life” that is being terminated but again, is placing a child in a foster care system, to be lost between the cracks, denied the gift of love and family, or born with a heroin addiction a better solution? I'm failing to get my point of view across without sounding shallow, I'm sure.

Sorry, let me correct that, I don't know how I got the impression this
baby was from England.

If this baby is from the U.K. then there will be grants & healthcare
available for this child.
I discovered I was pregnant at 19, one month after starting in a nannying position in Greece, once the agency discovered, the agent decided to book a clinic appointment for me. When she discussed it with me on the phone, I had presumed it was a check up, she clarified that straight away by saying it was an abortion. When I refused, she said 'that child won't thank you in ten years time'. Leone is 11 and a half now, I thought that I would leave it up to my then unborn child to some time in the future decide for herself.
Personally, I object to abortion, but I will not stop others from considering same. However, what worries me is the likes of Alex's cousin's wife, who didn't know she was pregnant until five months along. Now, this child was wanted & there was never an issue, but what about the girl that says she didn't know & wants rid?
Yes, the laws should move with the times, but make birth control more freely available also.

This is a subject that weighs heavily on me. And, as I don't feel
that I have an answer that can (as yet) really contribute to a positive change in a truly educated and non-emotional manner, I will just leave you with this:
Peace.

Troosha.....
This statement really concerns me......
But life is not measured solely by the formation of organs or the capacity to breath, it is also based on what lies ahead.
What lies ahead??? I don't think you meant it the way you have said it......care to expound upon it?

The Freedom of Choice is critical. Consider the rape victim who finds herself pregnant, the 14 year old who didn’t fully comprehend the consequences of unprotected sex, the woman who already has 7 children and can barely make ends meet, a pregnancy resulting from incest – don’t these women have a right to decide if they want to bring a child into the world? Sure… at 21 weeks we are not looking at a “mass” bur rather a life. But life is not measured solely by the formation of organs or the capacity to breath, it is also based on what lies ahead. Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control but there are circumstances where it is a moral, ethical, intelligent, and carefully made decision.

My mom-in-law was a nurse in O.B./Ped's for many years...it's highly unlikely that this child's life will be be qualitative as you and I know it...medical technology amazes me...but they have a long long way to go!

Amazing photos. Medical technology has come a long way
in a very short time. And it must be very expensive.
I can't help wondering if this baby's mother will be in debt all her life to pay off the medical bills? And if tiny Amillia will have a normal life after she reaches "birth weight"? In the best case scenario, she will thrive, grow and contribute. I hope everyone concerned is OK.
