It has gotten to the point of Catch 22, Nautikos. However, staying tends
to immensely destabilize an already volatile region even further and singles out the U.S. (and in a more limited way, other Coalition nations) for extremist targeting.  Policing the region is probably our best option, redeploying and repositioning to advantage for quick strike capability while allowing the people of the region their quasi-autonomy.  Besides, it's what the American people want at present and involvement there is attrition-intensive for the U.S.

this business about 'voices' is an unfortunate turn of phrase. But as far as the conclusion is concerned, after having given the whole matter a lot of thought over a long period of time, I concur with Bush. I think leaving now would just compound mistakes made earlier.

How dare you even intimate that Dubya even has the potential for gaining
a brain, such as did our dear iconic Scarecrow? (LOL) Besides, Presley, the Scarecrow WANTED a brain...

Saul

For some reason, reading this particular quote reminded me of the movie The Sixth Sense.  "I see dead people!"  LOL

When Dubya makes profound and insightful statements such as these I find myself hoping and praying that when his journey down the yellow brick road leads him to he wizard's door that the wizard will show him mercy and give him the brain he so deserately desires!
