And I agree with you. Pat is in a fresh hurt with a grandson going off to war. And I hope you don't have to send yours off. Mine was there and never saw battle but died in an auto wreck. You will go when your time is up regardless.

I agree with both you AND Pat. War sucks, but I love those who fight it
on our behalf.
My father fought at the Chosin Reservoir in Korea (Semper Fi!), so I know firsthand a thing or two about the toll of war for those who are left behind. And I hope to never have to send my son anywhere to kill or die.
That said, I'll honor his choice to go and his courage to defend it. After all, these soldiers are the ones who make our lives possible.

I do understand. I do want people to appreciate young men like your grandson, my sons and others who have fought. They did not go there because they had a beef with anyone. I believe I will have an eternity of peace. Some of that I believe is because we are standing against the enemy. But I am not trying to impose my will, just speaking my mind. I appreciate your doing the same. May you and your grandson be blessed.

Justi, I appreciate your sentiment and your passion.
But I'm so tired of wars, of seeing young people dying and broken, of the endless grief and bitterness on all sides of the issues. My grandson deployed on the 12th with many other young Marines, and I'm still crying about it. I support those young men and women with all my heart. But I hate war, and the ill-considered decisions that put them in harm's way. Check out my blog under Journal and let me know what you think. :)pat
