RaeS - Discipline was never my strong suit, even with my
own daughter. She's like me, a total wimp with her own kids. Her husband is a good balance to that.

Kids get so wound up they lose it.
I've often been guilty of getting the kids too involved when they were little. Observe and note and ask what's "cool", but don't get them invoilved in planning. Later, they will always be critical of other efforts if they are not directly invoilved and it isn't "perfect"...which it never will be, or it has to end, and then the teardrops and the crankiness erupt.
Been there, caused that.
