This is good info, Lustorlove.

I take it for granted that people know who she is/was, and know something about her roots and life path, as much as so many have been degrading and bashing her memory since she passed away on Thursday. If I had something mean to say about someone I would know something about that person before opening my mouth...IF I were that type of person to begin with.

This is succinct nice

yes but kind of in the background until tragedy hit her with her son and now herself

I think everyone is fascinated with her because she was tragic on so
many levels--yet gorgeous.

I would of never thought of that as how to pronounce that name, and I live in CA where the names are weird here too.

Ma-Ha-a makes good sense for the birthplace of another Marilyn Monroe impersonator.  It was just a silly costume for me ~ a joke.  I worked for a professional clown for a short time.

No, I"m not telling you my middle name--
My mother is the only one who could get away with using it.

Interesing post...good information...

Did you notice how all the people from Texas always have names like, "Billy Wayne Smith" and Judy Kay Jones and Jerry Don Jenkins????

That's how yu can know if they're really from TX - LOL! It's also interesting to hear news casters try to pronounce "Mexia"...it's

Ma-Ha'-a  - with a long A sound and the accent in the middle - it's not that hard really....but some of them make it sound like Greek.

Thank you.  I'll try to remember that.  Thank you also for all of the Anna details.  I didn't know most of that.

Did anyone care?  Actually, most of my family have been gone since around the time my dad was killed and then my grandmother, his mother, died soon after.

Oh, I also have an aunt named Elena, and my maternal Grandmother's middle name was Mae.  Plus, I often shop at Wal-Mart.

thats quite a story, no one cared until she was dead, or did they?

posted by Lanetay on February 9, 2007 at 7:40 PM | link to this | reply

Well, I've never been a stripper or a nude model, but, my Aunt's name is Vicky, my middle name is Lynn, my mother's name is Marilyn, my Granddaddy's name was Marshall, my niece's name is Nicole, I live in Texas, I've impersonated Marilyn Monroe in the past, and my son, who's middle name is Dan, was kidnapped this summer by his dad while I was giving birth to my daughter.  In 1991, I did not marry anyone, but my dad, Joe, was murdered that year.

I think Anna Nicole was full of life, and it saddens me deeply to see the amount of disrespect shown toward the means by which all of us are born into the world, which thing she showed no shame about, our sexuality.

Do I care who she was?  Do I care who I am in some person's eyes?  That person is apparently gone forever.
