I have said this before
While I have to admit, I do like seeing my blog in the top ten, I fail to understand the concern that many place on rank. Maybe if the blogs were more available to the general net population, I might feel differently; I really can't say for sure.
Anyway, in reality the ranking system here is simply a way of ranking a few fish, not even really big fish in a very, very small pond. There are writer's here whom are much better than myself, yet, I probably rank higher on them on a regular basis not because my writing is any better but because I have a group of people whom I read on a regular basis and they also read me.
Personally, I would much rather see my name on the best seller list.
