Faholo, I think many teachers who think they know where a kid should go
give guidance only towards the end they themselves have in mind. If they teach the kid about how to seek, rather than what to seek, then the kid will find whatever the Truth is. And the Truth can take care of itself.

very good
you are quite correct
i think the responsibility of the adult is to develop in the child critical thinking, being able to think for themselves.
to this end, the adult cannot tell the child that certain things are "gospel truth", but that the child must test what is said for veracity.
the problem with religion is that it has discouraged critical independent thinking. still does.

A good teacher leads children to conclusions and truth. That is what
you are doing with your children. It is very true there are many ideas about our origin: where we came form and who made us and all that is. I have been studying other religions and I am astonished by the conclusions many have drawn. Blessings Ceil!

ciel--
wow, yes--that's the truth!! Pun aside, it's unconscionable not to let our children find their own truth, even if it differs from what we think and feel is our own. Great post!
